What is your favorite kind of music? Who is your favorite singer?
What is your favorite musical instrument? What kinds of instruments are played in your country? Can you play an instrument?
Do children receive musical education in schools in your country? Do the schools offer band or choirs?
Would you like your children to become musicians? Why or why not? Do you have any relative who is a famous musician? Are you musical?
What is the music like in the mosque? Share about music in churches. Do you think music is haram or halal?(meaning forbidden or permitted by Islamic law)
Does music affect you? How?
Do you think God loves music? Share how heaven is described as a very musical place. Choirs of angels sing. Read one of heaven’s songs to your friend from the book of Revelation or what the angels sang announcing the birth of Jesus Christ.
Share about the prophet Daoud(David) that he played a harp and was very skilled. So much so that he was called on by King Saul to play his harp so the King could settle down from his fits. Share how the prophet Daoud composed many songs and they are recorded in the Zabour(Psalms). Would you like to hear the words of one of his songs? They are very comforting. You can pick one to read to your friend if she would like to hear it. You could also have her read it in a Bible in her own language.
